The Holland Times features interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador
Baku, September 9 (AZERTAC). Dutch newspaper The Holland Times has published an interview with Azerbaijani Ambassador Mirhamza Afandiyev.
In the interview, the Ambassador highlights Azerbaijan’s history since the country`s regaining its independence. Afandiyev praises Azerbaijan`s development in the last decade, particularly the country`s economic achievements, cooperation with international organizations, and the launch of the first communications satellite.
“This is the result of the successful policy founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev, which is today being continued by President Ilham Aliyev.”
Afandiyev points out Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, saying representatives of various religions, nations and cultures “are living in an atmosphere of peace in the country”.
The Ambassador provides an insight into the causes and consequences of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and Armenia`s aggression against Azerbaijan.
Afandiyev also touches upon Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations. He hails the bilateral cooperation, saying it is “developing at a rapid pace”.
