‘There is a growing Japanese interest in Azerbaijan’

“There is a growing interest in Azerbaijan among citizens of Japan,” Chief Executive Officer of the Japanese Connect Corporation Fukumura Takashi has told AZERTAC’s special correspondent.
Speaking about his visit to Azerbaijan in April this year, Takashi said that the key purpose of his visit was to hold discussions on the upcoming Japanese Expo exhibition in Baku.
The Japanese company`s CEO mentioned that during the meetings with representatives of public bodies and companies in Baku they agreed to hold the next exhibition of Japanese products in the capital of Azerbaijan from October 25 to 27 this year.
He said that the Japan Expo-2017 exhibition held in Baku last year aroused great interest among city residents, businessmen and public bodies. Takashi noted that his year's exhibition will bring together about 300 companies at the same venue. “The exhibition provides opportunities to find new customers, strengthen existing relationship with business partners and enter new sales markets.”
Takashi also praised Azerbaijan State News Agency’s (AZERTAC) media support for the exhibition, saying the agency as well as the country’s TV channels play a key role in promoting the exhibition.
General manager of the Cross Border Club Kazuyasu Ishida, who is an adviser to Japan EXPO-2018, highlighted close cooperation between the cities of Komatsu and Baku. He said that this year's exhibition will begin on October 25 and last for three days, adding that Japanese businessmen looking forward to the event with great interest and enthusiasm.
"Despite the great distance between Japan and Azerbaijan, the two countries share common values and many similarities which bring us even closer," he added.
