Three young Azerbaijani boxers into 1/8 final of World Championship
Baku, April 18 (AZERTAC). Three young Azerbaijani boxers have qualified for the 1/8 final of the World Championship in Bulgaria.
Mesud Yusifzade weighing in at 52kg, Shukran Mehdiyev at 91kg and Mahammadali Tahirov at super heavyweight progressed to the 1/8 final after defeating Canadian Adrian Halford, Norwegian Jonas Soenstebin and Lithuanian Dovydas Sernas respectively.
Yusifzade will next face Uzbek Abdulkay Sharakhmatov, Mehdiyev will clash with Turkish Mahammad Aydi, while Tahirov will lock horns with Turkish Eren Uzun.
