TO ORTHODOX CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY OF AZERBAIJAN

I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes for your strong health, happiness and prosperity on the occasion of holy Easter.
A centuries-long atmosphere of tolerance, peaceful coexistence of various nations and confessions enjoying mutual respect and friendship, and preservation of ethnic and cultural diversity are our historic achievements, which condition national and spiritual unity and socio-political stability within the Azerbaijani society.
Today, all citizens of Azerbaijan - irrespective of their language, religion and ethnicity - are properly benefiting from the freedom of consciousness and religion, progressive state-religion relations and democratic legal situation.
It is with great satisfaction that I point out the fact that preserving its national and traditional values, the large Orthodox Christian community of Azerbaijan is taking an active part in large-scale constructive activities and properly doing its civic duty.
Every year, Easter is widely celebrated in Azerbaijan as the symbol of peace, unity, mercy and compassion.
