TO STAFF OF SHUSHA TECHNICAL SCHOOL OF CULTURE AND EDUCATION
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you, workers of education of the Republic and alumni of Shusha Technical School of Culture and Education on the 100th anniversary of its founding.
Founded in 1907 as a gymnasium and transformed to the Seminary of Teachers in 1922, the Shusha Technical School of Culture and Education has played a special role in development of education in Azerbaijan.
Establishment of your school in the beginning of the 20th century coincided with a period when enlightenment movement was widespread in Azerbaijan. Occupying its own place in the making and development of the country’s educational system, your school has passed glorious way.
Thanks to selfless work of intellectuals, it played an important role in training necessary personnel for our country.
For many years, the school had been functioning as a Normal School. Alumni of this institution made great contributions to the cause of bringing up and teaching young generations. Today, alumni of the school are working throughout Azerbaijan.
As a result of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, your school, as all other cultural and educational institutions of Karabakh, has been robbed. Alumni of the school were among those sons of the Motherland who showed heroism while defending territorial integrity of our country. On these jubilee days, we remember them with deep respect.
Today located in Baku, your school, despite all difficulties, continues its rich educational traditions by exerting every effort for the students to master the secrets of chosen professions, and to be formed as deserved citizens of their country.
I am convinced that you will continue to contribute to training specialists for our cultural and educational institutions.
On the occasion of the jubilee, I wish you good health, happiness and every success.
Ilham Aliyev
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan
