TOTAL VOLUME OF AUTHORIZED CAPITALS OF BANKS INCREASED
Forty-one credit organizations have a permission to attract funds of the population, 43 - for transactions in foreign currency, 1 - precious metals, 26 - for plastic and credit card transactions.
According to the information by August 1, 46 banks are currently operating in Azerbaijan. Some 16 banks are functioning with the presence of foreign capital, in 5 out of this number share of foreign capital comes to within 50 -100 percent, in 9 - less than 50 percent, 2 of them operate as non-resident banks.
Credit organizations in total have 271 branches, 1 branch abroad, 2 representations and one filial. Non-banking credit organizations have 16 branches.
By August 1, the authorized capital of the banks came to 692,5 billion manats that is more by 10.1 percent than the data by January 1, 2003.
Some 72 billion manats out of the total amount of authorized capital comes to the share of governmental banks and 620,5 billion manats - to private banks. The authorized capitals of banks created with the presence of foreign capital, come to 252,8 billion manats and makes up 36,5 percent of the total amount of authorized capital.
Averagely, some 15,1 billion manats of authorized fund come to the share of each bank.
