Tour d'Azerbaijan international cycling tour starts in Baku
Baku, May 7 (AZERTAC). Tour d'Azerbaijan international cycling tour the level of 2.1 has today commenced in Baku.
The traditional race this year gathered 150 cyclists representing 25 teams from 33 countries.
The first stage starts in Baku and finishes in 154 km in Sumqayit.
The organizing committee of the tour consists of about 50 people, 20 of them are German, and another 30 are Azerbaijani specialists.
Eight teams out of the 17 existing teams in pro-continental level will participate in the Tour d'Azerbaidjan. The winners and participants of major tournaments as the Tour de France and Spanish La Vuelta, participated in the tournament.
Azerbaijan`s squad includes six cyclists, of them three are Azerbaijani nationals.
