The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export pipeline hauls 1 million barrels of oil per day, BP-Azerbaijan said. From 2008, 80 percent of the crude transported through the pipeline will fall to the share of Azerbaijan.

The annual pipeline throughput constitutes 50 million tons. It is possible to increase it up to 80-90 million tons in the future.

The pipeline has to date carried 22 million tons of crude (200 tankers). Turkey has profited $700 million from the BTC pipeline alone.
