Turkish and Uzbek presidents stress importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan have emphasized the great significance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad to boosting trade between the two countries as they met in Tashkent.
The heads of state maintained focus on the strengthening of cooperation in the field of transport communications and transit. Touching upon the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad project, they stressed the importance of further optimizing transit tariffs.
The two leaders underlined that there are all opportunities for increasing the volume of trade to US$5 billion in the coming years.
The issues of strengthening investment and financial and technical cooperation, development of ties in the spheres of tourism, health, culture and others were also discussed.
