TURKISH GOVERNMENT STARTS REALIZATION OF BAKU-TBILISI-KARS PROJECT

The tender with participation of the local and foreign companies related to construction of the Turkish site of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad is to be held on 21 September, spokesman of the Transport Ministry of Turkey told AZERTAC reporter.

Informing that for laying of a 76-kilometer Turkish site consisting of three stages and called "The Iron Silk Road", will be allocated $300 million, he noted, that after 2-month`s term of evaluation, the Company which will be named after the tender, will start construction. Among over 50 companies, as is informed, there are also famous companies as Alarko, Alkatel, Tekfen, Siemens, Alstom.

The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad line to let transportation of 30 million tons cargo annually, will become a source of income for Turkey, where at present is transported 19 million tons cargo.
