TURKISH HISTORIANS GET HOLD OF LETTERS REFUTING CLAIMS GENOCIDE
Turkish historians have found correspondence between Armenians, proving the claims of the “genocide” allegedly committed by Ottoman Empire against Armenians in the Eastern Anatolia to be far-fetched, AzerTAj Ankara-based correspondent reports.
“Europe and Russia will support creating an Armenian state in the region as soon as the Ottoman Empire has collapsed,” the letters read. According to the letter by a dashnak (member of Armenian nationalist party) named Bagos Safarian to his brother, who lived in Bitlis “Supported by Europe, Armenians will celebrate independence along with the next Easter”. Other dashnak’s message describes carnage committed against peaceful Turkish population. Bagos Nubar Pahsa in his letter advises of impending - with Russia’s military support - a riot in Van, and recommends raising hysteria about “extermination of Armenians” in order to get more financial support from Europe.
