TURKISH PREMIER TO DISCUSS TURKEY-ARMENIA RELATIONSHIP IN NEW YORK
Ankara, September 21 (AZERTAC). The rapprochement between Armenia and Turkey will be a subject of discussion as well, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told journalists before leaving for New York to attend the 64th session of UN General Assembly.
Turkey`s Hurriyet newspaper revealed prerequisites for normalization of Turkey-Armenia relationship. First, Armenia must free part of occupied territories of Azerbaijan. In this case, Turkey will agree to Azerbaijan-Armenia-Turkey meeting in Ankara. Second, signing of Turkey-Armenia protocols is scheduled for October 12 in Bern, Switzerland. At the next stage, Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan will go to Bursa to watch Turkey vs Armenia football match and the Turkish-Armenian joint commission of historians will be set up to study the so-called “Armenian genocide”.
US, English and Swiss historians are also scheduled to work in the commission.
