UEFA PRESIDENT TO MAKE OFFICIAL VISIT TO LATVIA

Baku, August 25 (AZERTAC). Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) President Michel Platini will arrive in Latvia on an official visit September 3, according to the Latvian Football Federation (LFF).

During his visit, Platini will be a guest of President Valdis Zatlers at Riga Castle, and later will attend the opening of a new football “minipitch” in Riga along with representatives of Riga City Council.

On the evening of September 3, Platini will attend a European Championship qualification game between Latvia and Croatia at “Skonto” stadium in Riga.

Platini will be accompanied on his visit by UEFA Deputy General Secretary Theodor Theodoridis.

This will be Platini`s first visit to Latvia since his election as president of UEFA. Previously, the French football legend and 1984 European Championship winner visited Latvia on two occasions, the most recent of which was in April 2006.

Platini will remain in Latvia until September 4.
