Ukraine`s Svitolina wins Baku Cup-2013 tennis tournament
Baku, July 28 (AZERTAC). Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has claimed the title of the champion of the Baku Cup-2013 tournament.
She secured the title after defeating Israeli Shahar Peer 2-0 in the final encounter.
In the doubles event, Oxana Kalashnikova (Georgia) and Irina Buryachok (Ukraine) couple climbed on to the winners` rostrum thanks to a 2-1 win over Eleni Danilidou (Greece) and Aleksandra Krunich (Serbia) duo in the final.
Speakers at the award giving ceremony included deputy minister of youth and sport Ismayi Ismayilov, director of the tournament Leyla Meskhi, WTA supervisor Chen Su, Secretary General of Azerbaijan Tennis Federation Ilham Guliyev and representative of the tournament’s main sponsor, Pasha Bank, Shahin Mammadov.
