‘UN mobilizes $52 million for projects in Azerbaijan’
Baku, April 10, AZERTAC
"The Cooperation Framework signed between the United Nations and the Government of Azerbaijan marks a new stage in their strategic partnership," said Kanako Mabuchi, Head of the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Azerbaijan, said during the meeting of the High-Level Joint Steering Committee on the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
“The document, prepared taking into account Azerbaijan's upper-middle-income country status and changing development needs, builds upon 33 years of partnership experience,” Kanako Mabuchi emphasized.
She also touched on financial aspects, adding that a total of $87 million is required over 5 years to achieve the specified results.
"Approximately 52 million dollars of this funding has already been mobilized, while efforts to secure the remaining 35 million dollars will continue in cooperation with government partners," the head of the UN Resident Coordinator added.
