A ceremony of signing the “National E-Governance Initiative” was held at Hyyat Regency - Nakhchivan hotel on 14 Jul

Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan Republic Ali Abbasov stressed the importance of the document and the daily increasing attention to information technologies in the Azerbaijan society. He noted the project is the second document signed between UNDP and the Ministry. It, according to him, consists of 4 parts and will be implemented in two years. The Minister added that the project’s total budget is 1 mln. 600 thousand dollars - one million is to be paid by the Ministry, and 600 thousand by the UNDP.

UNDP deputy resident-coordinator David Eisenberg noted that the project is of great importance for the republic, and that the organization he represents will be further actively involved in such projects.

Finally, Minister Ali Abbasov and deputy resident-coordinator David Eisenberg signed the documents.
