Uniondale School Evacuated After Student Releases Pepper Spray

Baku, October 24 (AZERTAC). Two dozen people were rushed from a Long Island elementary school to an area hospital Wednesday, all because of a can of pepper spray.

As CBS 2`s Carolyn Gusoff reported, police were trying to determine Wednesday afternoon how the pepper spray got inside a school hallway.

The incident happened around 11:20 a.m. at the Northern Parkway Elementary School in Uniondale.

A 10-year-old boy released the pepper spray somewhere near the library, which is located in the basement of the school, officials said. Police were questioning the fifth grader Wednesday afternoon to determine if he released the pepper spray accidentally or deliberately.
