UNIVERSITY OF UTAH DISCUSSES NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT
Discussions on "Nagorno- Karabakh problem" took place at the University of Utah on 18 May. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Los Angeles Elin Suleymanov, specialist on Azerbaijan and author of the book "Azerbaijan Diary", Thomas Goltz, well-known American journalist, author of several documentary films about the South Caucasus region Dodge Billingsley, and others participated in the event. Elin Suleymanov gave detailed information on history of the conflict, occupation of Azerbaijan’s territories by Armenian armed forces and its consequences. He said Azerbaijan tries to resolve Nagorno- Karabakh conflict on the principles of international law and territorial integrity, and the Azeri people desires to live with all neighbors in peace. Professor of the Montana University Thomas Goltz demonstrated the maps, narrating on the history of the Caucasus region. He also touched the theoretical aspects of the difference between the principles of the state’s territorial integrity and people’s right for self-determination.
