US WELCOMES PARDONING DECREE OF AZERBAIJAN PRESIDENT

As provided AzerTAj Agency, speaking at the OSCE Permanent Council’s sitting in Vienna on 9 September, the US diplomat Bruce Connac has stated that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has pardoned 264 people, including, has decreed on amnesty of 15 people who are called political prisoners by the local human rights activists. Among the pardoned, and there is a former leader of separatists Alikram Humbatov.

Mr. Bruce Connac has said that the United States welcomes Ilham Aliyev’s Decree on amnesty and recent call for national solidarity.
