Victory Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan celebrated in Pakistan

The Victory Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan was celebrated in Pakistani capital Islamabad on Wednesday evening. Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada was the chief guest on the occasion.
The event was hosted by the Azerbaijan’s Embassy in Pakistan marking the country’s Victory Day. The Victory Day function was attended by Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Islamabad, Khazar Farhadov, members of the Pakistani Parliament, foreign diplomats based in Islamabad, representatives of different business institutions, civil and military officials, journalists and Azerbaijani citizens living in Pakistan.
Pakistani Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khursheed Alam, Governor of Sindh Province Kamran Tessori and Chairman of Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed also attended the function. A cake cutting ceremony was also held on this occasion by Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan along with the chief guest.
While addressing the participants, the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov said that every year November 8 is celebrated as Victory Day of Azerbaijan. He emphasized on the cordial bilateral relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Pakistan. The Ambassador said Azerbaijan will host the COP29 during the current month in Baku in a big way and a large number of participants will attend the moot from across the globe.
Addressing the ceremony, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Housing and Works, Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada congratulated the government and people of Azerbaijan on their Victory Day. He said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan are brotherly countries and both the countries shared common historical, cultural and religious bonds. He also expressed the hope that the bilateral ties between the two countries would grow in the future ahead.
Earlier the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Pakistan were played. During the function videos depicting Azerbaijan’s historical victory, the ongoing restoration and reconstruction work in the liberated Azerbaijani territories were shown to the participants.
