Warsaw marks anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s death
Baku, December 18 (AZERTAC). The 10th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s death was marked in Warsaw, Poland.
The event organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Poland and Azerbaijani Culture Center has been held at Public Library “Praga Ploudnie”.
The commemoration was attended by representatives of the Azerbaijani community in Poland and public figures.
Attending the event Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Poland Hasan Hasanov provided an insight into the life and activities of national leader Heydar Aliyev and spoke about his unparalleled contribution to the Azerbaijan`s success in the international arena and development of the Azerbaijan-Poland ties. He pointed out that Heydar Aliyev managed to get the country out of political and economic crisis and put it back on track.
He also recalled a visit of Pope John Paul II on the invitation of national leader Heydar Aliyev to Azerbaijan in 2002. The embassy gave out the book narrating on this visit to the participants. He underlined the monument to the Azerbaijan-Poland friendship with Heydar Aliyev`s words on Poland and John Paul`s ones on Azerbaijan engraved on it.
