WHO TO EXPAND COOPERATION WITH AZERBAIJAN
As was informed to AzerTAj from the press center of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Elmar Mammadyarov has positively estimated relations of Azerbaijan with the World Health Organization and has expressed confidence that the current visit would benefit to development of mutual cooperation.
Having noted, that as a result of aggression of Armenia in our republic is present about one million refugees and IDPs expelled from their native lands, the Minister has emphasized, that the care shown to them by the WHO leadership and the rendered assistance have very much great value for our country, and has expressed confidence of continuation of activity in the given direction.
Director of the WHO European Regional Bureau Mr. Mark Danzon has with satisfaction noted prompt development of our country and has stated that supports continuation of the links in the future in closer form existing between this organization and Azerbaijan.
Then, Mr. Mark Danzon has in detail informed minister Elmar Mammadyarov on the work done in the field of improvement of activity headed by him Bureau and the WHO.
At the meeting, was held exchange of opinions concerning ratification of the amendments brought in the charter of the World Health Organization, and the frame convention “On the control over tobacco”.
Mark Danzon has stated that position of refugees in Azerbaijan constantly is in the center of the WHO attention and rendering assistance by it would be continued.
At the meeting, also present was Minister of Health Ali Insanov.
