WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION ACKNOWLEDGED SUCCESS OF AZERBAIJAN
Azerbaijan takes the third place among countries of the region according to the level of introduction of World Health Organization’s (WHO) strategy in the country. It was stated at the 53rd session of the regional committee of European regional bureau of WHO in Vienna between September 8 and 11. Ministers of Health of 53 countries, members of this regional bureau as well as heads of local representations of WHO were taking part in the sitting, press service of the Ministry of Health reports. Azerbaijan was represented at the session by Minister of Health Ali Insanov and the head of Baku representation of WHO Farman Abdulayev was taking part in the sitting of the session.
The issues of children and teenagers health, psychological health of the population of Europe were discussed at the meeting. The European Committee for environment and health protection made a report on realization of WHO program Health for Everyone. Minister Ali Insanov making a report on state of health in Azerbaijan pointed out achievements of Azerbaijani doctors in prevention of poliomyelitis, tuberculosis. WHO’s contribution into this process, he said, which rendered all-sided assistance to Azerbaijan, cannot be underestimated.
