YAP PROTESTS AGAINST PRO-ARMENIAN POSITION OF “REGNUM” NEWS AGENCY
The executive secretariat of the New Azerbaijan Party has sent a letter of protest to the Russia’s “Regnum” news agency because the agency launched a special section titled “Nagorno-Karabakh” on its website.
The letter says:
“The information spread by the news agencies must be objective, accurate and partial. Unfortunately, this extremely important condition is forgotten in some cases, and some agencies tend to be biased. Russian Federation’s “Regnum” agency is among biased agencies that regularly post partial information on their websites. The fact that this agency has made a special section titled “Nagorno-Karabakh” available on its website and posted a substantial information about illegal presidential elections in the “so-called” NKR evidences of the biased position of this electronic media outlet. No doubt, Regnum news agency management is well aware of the truth on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. International organizations such as UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, Organization of the Islamic Conference and some countries strongly condemned the so-called presidential elections in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan occupied by Armenia. The fact that Regnum posted plenty of reports on its website, including over 100 stories for over three days and propagandize so-called elections cause Azerbaijan public’s discontent. Being Azerbaijan’s leading political party, the New Azerbaijan Party condemns these actions of the Regnum news agency of the Russian Federation, which is the OSCE Minsk Group co-chair country, and regards this step as contradicting the spirit of Russia-Azerbaijan strategic cooperation.. Regnum’s activity, which prefers pro-Armenian stories, contradicts the internationally recognized information exchange rules. We hope that Regnum news agency will take into account Azerbaijan public’s protest and give up spreading biased and partial”.
