“YOUNG LEADERS” CHILDREN ORGANIZATION NAMED ACTIVISTS OF YEAR
“Young Leaders” Children Organization announced the results of polls and monitoring on the nomination “Friend of Children”.
Addressing the meeting Farid Shahbazli, Chairman of the “Young Leaders” Children Organization stated that 2007 year was successful in protecting children’s rights, stressing that the state, as well as non-governmental organizations pay important attention and care to the children.
Mr. Shahbazli stated that the Organization conducted survey among 3000 respondents. According to the survey, Misir Mardanov, Minister of Education, named “Person of Year”.
While, due to the cooperation with children’s organizations Ganira Pashayeva, Fattah Heydarov, Ulvi Guliyev, Zahid Oruj, Aqil Abbas, Fuad Muradov and for their services in the Azerbaijani science Nizami Jafarov, Yaqub Mahmudov were honored with “Person of Year” for 2007. Deputy of Milli Majlis, writer-publicist Elmira Akhundova was also among prizewinners for her contribution in development of Azerbaijani literature.
Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AZERTAC) was selected as the best information agency of the year.
