1st International Nowruz Festival opens in Baku
Baku, March 20 (AZERTAC). The First International Nowruz Festival has opened in Baku.
Speaking to the event, spokesman for “Icharishahar” State Historical and Architectural Reserve Rahib Azeri said this year the festival was attended by representatives of eight countries celebrating Nowruz.
Turkish Ambassador Ismail Alper Coskun, Iranian Ambassador Mohsun Pakayin, Adviser at the Russian Embassy Valentin Denisov and Tajik Ambassador Zohir Saidov congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the occasion of Nowruz holiday.
The festival features Maidan Bazaar arranged near the Gosha Gala Gates, which demonstrates products of national craftsmanship and decorative arts, as well as souvenirs.
During the festival days residents and guests of Baku will have an opportunity to enjoy many interesting events, including performance of pehlevans (Azerbaijani wrestlers), rope-walkers and magicians, the Children’s Theater artists. The visitors will also be able to listen to mugham and classical music pieces, national songs of different nations, modern pop and jazz music.
