2,422 killed in traffic accidents in Myanmar in 2023

Traffic accidents killed 2,422 people in Myanmar in 2023, Xinhua reported citing the Road Transport Administration Department.
The road death figure for 2023 was down compared to 2,795 people killed in traffic accidents in 2022, the data showed.
Yangon region reported the highest number of deaths from road accidents in 2023 at 426, followed by Mandalay region with 339 and Shan state with 329 respectively.
According to the figure, a total of 4,772 traffic accidents occurred across the Southeast Asian country in 2023, and 6,583 people were also injured in the accidents.
