300 NEW POST OFFICES SCHEDULED TO BE OPENED IN 2008
Under the Financial Services Development Project jointly realized by the Azerpocht State Enterprise and World Bank, new post offices are scheduled to be opened in Azerbaijan in 2008.
Today, Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies is set to open 300 new post offices in the country in 2008 with an aim to develop and improve postal services in Azerbaijan.
Deputy Azerbaijan’s Communication and Information Technologies Minister Iltimas Mammadov said about 110 new post offices were put into operation in Azerbaijan last year and approximately 85 new post offices have been built during this year.
Over the past three years, more than 3 thousand mail boxes have been installed in remote settlements in Azerbaijan.
