7th International Mstislav Rostropovich Festival starts in Baku
Baku, May 12 (AZERTAC). The 7th International Mstislav Rostropovich festival has today kicked off in Baku.
The festival is co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Mstislav Rostropovich Foundation for Cultural and Humanitarian Programs.
The opening ceremony featured performances by Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra after Uzeyir Hajibeyli conducted by People's Artist Rauf Abdullayev, and Azerbaijan State Choir led by People’s Artist Gulbaji Imanova.
The artistic director of the festival is the world-famous musician's daughter Olga Rostropovich.
Held since 2007, the festival brings together famous musicians from different parts of the world.
