Baku, December 17 (AZERTAC). The Shah Deniz 2 Final Investment Decision Signing Ceremony has today been held at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva, and Vise-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the ceremony.
The Head of State addressed the event.
Other speakers at the event included prime ministers Edi Rama of Albania, Plamen Oresharski of Bulgaria, Irakli Garibashvili of Georgia, Zoran Milanovic of Croatia, President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic, Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland William Hague, Foreign Minister of Italy Emma Bonino, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Taner Yıldız, European Union Commissioner for Energy Gunther Oettinger, Acting Assistant Secretary for the Office of Policy and International Affairs (PI) at the U.S. Department of Energy Jonathan Elkind, President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev and BP Group Chief Executive Robert Dudley.
The speeches were followed by the signing ceremony.
Azerbaijan`s Minister of Energy Natig Aliyev, Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry Damian Gjiknuri, Croatian Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak and Montenegrin Economy Minister Vladimir Kavaric signed “Memorandum of Understating related to cooperation in implementing the Southern Gas Corridor in the South East Europe between the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Albania, the Republic of Croatia and Montenegro.”
President of the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev and President of the operator of the Shah Deniz PSA (Production Sharing Agreement) Gordon Birrell signed Shah Deniz 2 Final Investment Decision.
