Baku hosts 18th meeting of Conference of Special Service Bodies of Turkic-speaking States VIDEO

The 18th meeting of the Conference of Special Service Bodies of Turkic-speaking States has today been held in Baku, bringing together delegates from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. High level officials of Russia, Ukraine and Georgia also joined the meeting as observers with the aim of strengthening and expanding cooperation with the partner states towards preventing terrorism and religious extremism and regional and global threats to security and stability.
Azerbaijan`s Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov made opening remarks at the meeting.
Head of the Azerbaijani President's Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev welcomed the event participants on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev. He said heads of state attached special importance to strengthening mutual relations among Turkic speaking states. Ramiz Mehdiyev expressed confidence that the issues to be discussed would be fruitful and yield concrete results.
Minister Mahmudov then made a speech to praise cooperation among the security and special service bodies of the Turkic-speaking states.
Head of Turkey's National Intelligence Organization Hakan Fidan highlighted prospects for cooperation of special service bodies in terms of increasing efficiency of the fight against terrorism and other transnational crimes.
Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Kazakhstan Gabit Bayzhanov also made remarks.
The gathering culminated with the signing of a final document, and the participants agreed to hold the 19th meeting of the Conference of Special Service Bodies of Turkic-speaking States in Kazakhstan.
Prior to the meeting the event participants visited the Alley of Honors to put a wreath at the tomb of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
They also put flowers at the grave of prominent ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, and also visited the Alley of Martyrs to commemorate Azerbaijani heroes who gave their lives for the country's independence and territorial integrity.
