Austrian Ambassador hails the role of social media as he meets AZERTAC chief VIDEO

Austrian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Axel Wech has said the media may address today`s challenges with the help of social networks as he met Director General of Azerbaijan State News Agency AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov. The Ambassador highlighted challenged faced by the media outlets, and also touched upon Internet journalism. He provided an insight into the activities of the Embassy. Mr Wech also emphasized the importance of developing cooperation between the media bodies of the two countries.
Mr. Aslanov spoke of AZERTAC`s cooperation with foreign counterparts. “We are exchanging information with national news agencies of more than 40 countries on the basis of bilateral agreements.” He hailed "close' relations between AZERTAC and Austrian Press Agency. “AZERTAC maintains close cooperation with the Austrian Press Agency as part of the European Alliance of News Agencies. We have sincere and friendly relations with CEO of APA Peter Kropsch. Austrian media representatives attend the Baku international humanitarian forum on a regular basis.”
He said: "AZERTAC today holds chairmanship and is an active member of a number of regional and international news organizations. We will host the 16th General Assembly of the Organization of Asia Pacific News Agencies and the 5th News Agencies World Congress in 2016. Participation of the Austrian media representatives in the international events will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries."
