Azerbaijan, Georgia eye military cooperation

Defense Minister of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov has met with the visiting Georgian delegation led by Chief of Georgian Defense Forces Giorgi Matiashvili.

Hasanov noted that bilateral and trilateral cooperation among Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Georgia play an important role in ensuring security in the region.

The Minister touched upon the Winter Exercise-2023 in Kars, saying the joint military drills are an important component of expanding military capacity among the armies.

The Defense Minister dwelt upon the high-level meetings between the heads of state on the sidelines of the Munich Security Council.

Matiashvili highlighted high-level military ties, adding Azerbaijan-Georgia military cooperation is instrumental in the regional security.

The meeting also addressed the outlook for military education and other issues.
