Academician Ramiz Mehdiyev`s book published in Bishkek

Baku, September 7 (AZERTAC). A book titled “Shah Ismayil Safavi as an outstanding historical personality” by head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, academician Ramiz Mehdiyev has been published in Kyrgyz and Russian languages in Bishkek.

The book was translated into the Kyrgyz language by famous poet Mukan Asanaliyev.

Shah Ismayil Safavi was the founder of the Safavid dynasty. He was enthroned as Shah of Azerbaijan in 1501. After defeating the Aq Qoyunlu in 1502, he took the title of Shah of Iran. Shah Ismail was also a prolific poet who, under the pen name Khatai, contributed greatly to the literary development of the Azerbaijani Turkic language.
