AVTOVAZ decided on the new model design

Baku, July 1 (AZERTAC). AVTOVAZ decided on the new LADA model design. The plant is to produce the car on the new platform. The design will be conducted by Steve Matin.

New model will be quite similar to Lada XRay presented at Moscow international car show. Exterior and interior design of the car is already accepted and now the cooperation with the suppliers starts. The company is also developing new high hatchback and a crossover.

According to the Head of AVTOVAZ, new model will be more expensive, than Granta and Kalina and the sales are to start in 2015-2016.

Lada XRay was first shown in August, 2012 at Moscow car show. The specimen design was elaborated by Steve Mattin, former Volvo and Mercedes-Benz designer. The car will have stub front grille made of black lacquered plastic.
