AZERBAIJAN ATHLETES SUCCEED IN WORLD KUNG FU CHAMPIONSHIP

16 strongest athletes of Azerbaijan successfully participated in the World Kung Fu Championship, which brought together 940 athletes from 63 countries in the Italian city of Perugia.

In general, Azerbaijan athletes grabbed 14 medals, President of Azerbaijan Kung Fu Barat Israfilov told AZERTAG reporter.

In Tai Chi, Barat Israfilov grabbed gold medal. In professional Sanda, Ramil Allahverdiyev ( 55kg), Emil Haciyev (55kg), Turak Aliyev (55kg), Guloglan Jabbarov (over 90kg) mounted the highest step on the podium. Rashad Hasanov (60kg) snatched silver, Babak Huseynov ( 80kg) and Samit Bashirov ( 90kg) bronze medals.

In junior section, Jeyhun Khaligli (40kg) and Elgun Baylavor (70kg) ranked first, while Elgun Safarov (48kg) second.

In Light Sanda, Orkhan Rahimov (75kg) and Anar Karimov (80kg) grabbed gold, Zaur Movlanov (90kg) bronze medals.

In the team event, Russia took first, Azerbaijan and Italy second and third places respectively.
