AZERBAIJAN, FRANCE: CULTURAL RELATIONS BECOME INTENSIVE
The same day, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva met with Mr. Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres, Minister of Culture and Communication of France.
In meeting, it was underlined, that after the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to France, the relations were intensified not only in political-economic, but also cultural sphere between the two countries. The Minister noted, that he is glad to see again the First Lady of Azerbaijan in Paris. Speaking about history of the French-Azerbaijani cultural ties, he emphasized, that the traditions continue today. France aspires to the further expansion and development of cultural cooperation with Azerbaijan, he stressed.
Noting that he is aware of the huge merits of Mehriban Aliyeva in expansion of cultural links, the Minister highly estimated her activity directed on popularization of the Azerbaijan culture in the world.
Having expressed satisfaction with meeting, Mehriban Aliyeva emphasized, that 2007 has begun with the state visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to France, and has expressed confidence, that this year would become very important for mutual relations.
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation headed by Mehriban Aliyeva has cultural cooperation with many countries and the organizations of the world. The Foundation is interested in realization of concrete projects in the field of culture, popularization of Azerbaijan in France. In this connection, Mehriban Aliyeva has suggested to lead Days of culture of Azerbaijan to France and Days of culture of France in Azerbaijan.
The Minister expressed hope that embassies of the two countries would be instructed on the matter to prepare the Days of Culture.
Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva invited Mr. Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres to visit Azerbaijan. The invitation was accepted.
