Azerbaijan, Italy ink military cooperation plan
Baku, January 28 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijani and Italian ministries of defence have today signed a military cooperation plan for 2014.
Prior to the signing ceremony, discussions on the Azerbaijan-Italy bilateral military cooperation were held at the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry`s International Military Cooperation Department. At the event, the Azerbaijani delegation was led by head of International Military Cooperation Department, Major-General Ramiz Najafov, while the Italian delegation was headed by Rear Admiral of Italian Navy Edoardo Compiani.
The sides exchanged views on current state of and prospects for development of the Italian-Azerbaijani ties in the fields of military, military education and military-technical. They also discussed regional security issues.
Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Giampaolo Cutillo and Rear Admiral Emmanuele Bottazzi, the Italian defence attachй in Azerbaijan, participated in the event.
