Azerbaijan joins 103rd Session of International Labour conference in Switzerland
Baku, June 9 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation, Vice-President of the International Trade Unions Confederation Sattar Mehbaliyev is attending the 103rd Session of the International Labour conference in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mehbaliyev has delivered a presentation titled “Strategic objectives of employment” at the conference.
He said the main directions of socio-economic policy carried out in Azerbaijan was the protection of labour rights, implementation of employment and social security-related measures, improvement of the labour legislation, ensuring of financial, social and moral interests of the citizens.
The International Labour Conference (ILC), senior executive forum of the International Labour Organization (ILO) holds its 103rd session.
During the session the reports of the Chairman of the ILO Governing Body on 2013-2014 biennium, as well as of the ILO Director General on the implementation of social policy programs will be considered.
The ILC technical committees will focus on the implementation of ILO Programme and Budget for 2014-2015 biennium, observance of ILO conventions and recommendations, supplementary measures for strengthening the implementation of the Forced Labour Convention, 1930 (No. 29), the facilitation of transitions from the informal to the formal economy as well as on the implementation of strategic objectives of employment.
Also during the 103rd ILC the Member States are to approve the composition of the Governing Body for the period 2014-2017 and the set of amendments to the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006.
