Azerbaijan joins 16th International Muğla Yoruk Turkmen Festival

Azerbaijan was represented at the 16th International Muğla Yörük Turkmen Festival held in the Muğla province of Türkiye.
Held on September 6-7 in the Düzeyn Plateau of the Menteşe district, this international event served as a meaningful meeting point where not only nomadic and Turkmen cultures but also peoples from diverse geographies came together, building bridges of friendship and solidarity.
This major event aims to pass on thousands of years of nomadic and Turkmen traditions to future generations. Attendees included embassy representatives from countries such as Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, and Moldova.
A special stand showcasing Azerbaijani culture was opened, alongside those of several other countries.
Samir Abbasov, Director of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center, visited the stand representing Azerbaijan’s national values and took part in the opening ceremony and in the cultural program.
The main program of the festival included exhibitions of handicrafts, samples of traditional cuisine, musical and dance performances, and informative presentations about the traditional lifestyle of the Yörük people.
The 16th International Muğla Yörük Turkmen Festival, beyond being a mere cultural event, has become a memorable platform where people from diverse backgrounds come together to share their cultural values, preserve traditions, and strengthen the legacy that must be passed on to future generations. The importance of such events in strengthening social solidarity and preserving cultural riches for future generations has been proven once again.
