Azerbaijan joins 8th Internet Governance Forum in Indonesia
Baku, October 23 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Elmir Valizade is attending the Internet Governance Forum in Bali, Indonesia.
The overarching theme for the 2013 IGF meeting is: "Building Bridges"- Enhancing Multistakeholder Cooperation for Growth and Sustainable Development".
The Azerbaijani Deputy Minister delivered a speech at the event.
Mr. Valizade, as part of the visit, has met Minister of Communication and Information in the Second United Indonesia Cabinet Tifatul Sembiring.
They exchanged views on the current state of the ICT sphere, as well as cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
A seminar on development of the ICT sphere in Azerbaijan will be held on the sidelines of the forum.
Each main/focus session will be an opportunity for a productive exchange between all stakeholders on policy approaches, challenges, and practical options to address them. Each session may have a chair appointed by the host country or lead organizer and may choose to appoint one or two moderators depending upon the session topic to structure the discussion. The goal is to discuss practices or issues and their relevance to all stakeholders.
Each session may also seek to address a set of relevant policy questions, as per the recommendations of the CSTD working group on improvements to the IGF, divergent and convergent opinions on these questions would then be captured in outcome reporting.
