Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss military cooperation
Baku, January 16 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani Defence Minister Zakir Hasanov has met Kazakhstan`s Ambassador Amangeldy Zhumabayev to discuss the bilateral military cooperation. They discussed their countries`s contribution to strengthening mutual confidence and ensuring regional security.
Hasanov spoke of the military and political situation in the region, saying the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict is the main threat to stability in the region. The Minister emphasized the importance of solving the dispute in compliance with international law and the UN Security Council resolutions.
Ambassador Zhumabayev hailed Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan relations as friendly and fraternal, saying “as Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have common positions in the economic, political and military areas, they are also important partners on the Caspian Sea”.
Kazakh military attaché to Azerbaijan Almaz Bazarbayev was also present at the meeting.
