AZERBAIJAN, KAZAKHSTAN: ISSUES OF FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONS DISCUSSED
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Kazakh Prime Minister Kerim Masimov, 27 February.
Elmar Mammadyarov congratulated Kerem Masimov on his election to the high post, wished him success in activity.
In meeting, the sides noted importance of deepening the economic links between the two countries, discussed the questions of expanding cooperation not only on the oil sector, but also in the fields of communications, transport, agriculture, processing industry, etc.
Mr. Mammadyarov on behalf of Azerbaijan’s Premier invited Kerem Masimov to visit Azerbaijan. The invitation was accepted.

The same day, FM of Azerbaijan met with chairman of the Upper Chamber of the Kazakh Parliament- Senate, Kasimjomard Tokayev. In meeting, expansion of inter- parliamentary ties was focused.
Also were discussed issues of widening the relations in humanitarian sphere, organizing mutual visits of parliamentary delegations.

In the framework of his visit, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with his Kazakh counterpart Marat Tajin.
The parties noted the 15-year long diplomatic relations during the independence years, marking that a lot has been done in this direction. According to the Ministers, volume of commodity turnover between the two countries has reached 250 million dollars, and this is not the limit.
The ministers also focused on issues of cooperation between the countries in transport-communications, energy, and trade-economic and cultural fields.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kazakhstan Latif Gandilov took part at the meetings.
