Azerbaijan, Korea sign MoU on military cooperation
Seoul, December 3 (AZERTAC). The Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan and Ministry of National Defense of Korea have signed a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation as part of Azerbaijan`s defense minister, colonel-general Zakir Hasanov`s visit to Seoul.
Zakir Hasanov first visited Korean Martyrs Avenue to lay wreath at a monument commemorating the Korean heroes who gave their lives for the country`s independence.
He also met his Korean counterpart Kim Kwan-jin to discuss how to expand cooperation in the military field. They praised developing relations between the two countries in a variety of fields.
The two also stressed the importance of reciprocal visits in terms of expanding relations between the two countries.
Mr. Hasanov provided an insight into history and consequences of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, adding Armenia continues to disregard UN Security Council`s four resolutions demanding an unconditional and immediate withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijan`s occupied lands.
Kim Kwan-jin, in turn, stressed the importance of bilateral exchange experience in the relevant field.
Zakir Hasanov signed the Ministry`s guest book.
The Azerbaijani minister also met Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Choi Yoon-Hee. They exchanged views on current state of and prospects for developing relations in the relevant spheres.
Zakir Hasanov, as part of the visit, met Defense Acquisition Program Administration - DAPA chairman Lee Young-geol.
