Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan mull emergency response cooperation
Bishkek, June 18 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Hidayet Orujov met the country`s Minister for Emergency Situations Kubatbek Boronov.
During the conversation, Orujov said President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is keen on cementing Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan relations, and the embassy takes every opportunity to realize the President`s instructions. The ambassador pointed out that there is enormous potential for cultivating cooperation in trade, information and communication technologies, transport, science, and education.
The Minister hailed the fact that the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan is provided with modern equipment and highly-qualified personnel. According to him, the cooperation between the emergency ministries is expanding.
Boronov pointed out that the agreement on cooperation on civil defense and disaster response was signed during Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev`s visit to Azerbaijan in March, 2012. The agreement is based on a draft plan for cooperation for 2013-2016 between the two countries` ministries.
