Azerbaijan, Latvia discuss expansion of military cooperation
Baku, August 7 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Latvia have explored ways of expanding military-technical cooperation as Prime Minister Artur Rasizade met Latvian Minister of Defence Raimonds Vejonis.
Mr. Rasizade hailed cooperation between Azerbaijan and Latvia in political, economic and cultural fields. He expressed confidence the Latvian Minister`s trip will boost the expansion of the bilateral cooperation in the military sphere.
The Prime Minister spoke of Armenia`s policy against Azerbaijan, particularly the consequences of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Minister Vejonis informed the Azerbaijani Premier on his meetings and negotiations in Azerbaijan, saying he discussed with Azerbaijani counterparts the conduct of military trainings and exchange of experience.
On regional problems, the Latvian Minister condemned Armenia`s policy of aggression, saying his country has always backed Azerbaijan`s just position. He stressed the importance of ensuring settlement of the conflict in compliance with international legal norms.
