Azerbaijan, Morocco sign emergency management deal
Baku, June 17 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and Morocco have signed an agreement on cooperation in the management of emergency situations. The deal was inked by Azerbaijani Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov and Morocco`s Minister of Interior Mohamed Hassad in Rabat.
Speaking prior to the signing ceremony, Mr. Hassad said Morocco wanted to benefit from Azerbaijan’s rich experience in building disaster warning system and eliminating oil pollution.
Heydarov provided an insight into the ministry’s activities, and highlighted prospects for cooperation with Morocco’s emergency situations.
In Rabat, the Azerbaijani Minister met Director General of ISESCO Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri.
Heydarov praised cooperation between Azerbaijan and ISESCO in the field of education, science and culture.
Altwaijri hailed Azerbaijan`s role in the Islamic world as “exemplary”. He also praised ISESCO`s joint projects with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Heydarov also met Prime Minister of Morocco Abdelilah Benkirane, who expressed his country`s interest in strengthening the cooperation with Azerbaijan in preventing and tackling emergency situations.
Heydarov also met Moroccan Minister for Planning and Development Mohand Laenser, and they discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries in the fields of construction, urban planning, experience and personnel exchange.
