Azerbaijan National Paralympic Committee, UNICEF ink MoU
Baku, October 8 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijan National Paralympic Committee and the United Nations Children`s Fund (UNICEF) have today signed a memorandum of understanding.
The document was signed by President of the Azerbaijan National Paralympic Committee Ilgar Rahimov and Head of the UNICEF Office in Azerbaijan Mark Hereward.
Addressing the signing ceremony, Ilgar Rahimov, Mark Hereward, Azerbaijani MP Rauf Aliyev and captain of the Paralympic team Ilham Zakiyev stressed the importance of the MoU.
The speakers praised the establishment of Children`s Paralympic Movement/Committee in Azerbaijan, saying it is the result of the government`s attention to sports and physical education. The newly established committee will work to ensure rehabilitation and integration of physically disabled children into the society.
The MoU aims to provide UNICEF`s support to the Children`s Paralympic Movement/Committee.
At the end of the ceremony, Ilham Zakiyev presented a special medal to Head of the UNICEF Office in Azerbaijan Mark Hereward.
