Azerbaijan, OIC discuss future cooperation
Baku, January 31 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) have discussed future bilateral cooperation as the country`s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Rasim Rzayev met new OIC Secretary-General Iyad bin Amin Madani.
The OIC Secretary-General thanked the Azerbaijani government and President Ilham Aliyev for the country`s “efficient activity” in the organization.
Amin Madani praised Azerbaijan-OIC relationship, adding he would spare no efforts to further the bilateral ties.
The Ambassador said developing cooperation with OIC was one of the priorities of Azerbaijan. He expressed confidence Amin Madani`s tenure would see the relationship between the country and the organization develop even further.
Rzayev praised OIC`s position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, stressing the importance of taking more effective steps in order to find a solution to the dispute.
The Ambassador invited Amin Madani, on behalf of Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs, to visit Baku.
