Azerbaijan, Pakistan discuss development of economic relations

Islamabad, March 4, AZERTAC

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov has met with Governor of the Punjab province of the country Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar to discuss the development of economic relations between the two countries.

Touching upon the high-level of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, the ambassador hailed the development of these ties in all areas. He stressed the importance of further expanding trade and economic ties. Touching upon the Preferential Trade Agreement between the relevant agencies of Azerbaijan and Pakistan, Ambassador Farhadov underlined the working groups to be established on energy, banking, health, youth, transport, information technologies and tourism.

Noting that Pakistani citizens can already use the “ASAN visa” service, and Pakistan International Airlines will launch direct flights to Azerbaijan by the middle of this month, the diplomat said that all this would boost the tourism sector in both countries.

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad praised the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan. Underlining the importance of economic ties, the governor mentioned that a delegation of Pakistani entrepreneurs was ready to pay a working visit to Azerbaijan. The Punjab governor also expressed his intention to visit Azerbaijan.
